My name is Pilar Munday. I’m from Spain but have been living in the US for more than 20 years now (time does fly!). I’m a professor of Spanish at Sacred Heart University, a small private school in Connecticut. I obtained my Ph.D. from NYU, where I wrote a dissertation about phonetics. I’ve also written a couple of books to learn Spanish, 30 Days to Great Spanish and 2000+ Essential Spanish Verbs.
I have a lovely family, both here and in Spain, where I like to travel every year to visit my mother and siblings. Besides teaching, I’m also very interested in nutrition and health. I have another blog, Tips for a happier and healthier me, where you can learn about the things I do when I’m not working.
How can I help you?
Technology has brought wonder to my classroom and I would like to show how it can happen to you too. I do believe that we can use technology to engage and motivate our students and, in that way, be able to have them learn a bit more. Here are some of my latest presentations, where you can see what kind of topics interest me. In general, I love to use the following tools in my courses:
- Mobile Apps to learn languages like Duolingo
- Google Docs
- Google Sites
But I can also cover other topics you may be interested in, such as integrating content in Blackboard, or the use of other Web 2.0 tools.
I also believe that we all learn from each other, so I hope that by getting to know you my life will be enriched as well.
Thanks for reading!
