#InstagramELE continues being very popular (with more than 3000 pictures), and we have more teachers and students participating every day. Adelaida wrote a great post about who exactly participated in March and other details.
For the month of April, we are happy to report that we had some people suggesting great words: @karacjacobs, @aranchapastor and a wonderful student, Jennifer, from @lovemysummer‘s class. Thanks to all of them!
And I just want to add that, this month, I am going to be following my students’ idea and I will be “moving” to our freshly minted new Instagram account: @desafioinstagramELE. I will then use my main account, (@mundaysa) just for my friends who have hopefully learned some Spanish these two months. It is interesting how, as educators, we often end up learning so much from our students, and this is definitely a case in point.
Here are the words for the April challenge:
We also would like to start launching some type of “contests” to reward the best images and the best Spanish sentences we see. We are starting this month by focusing on one day, April 11, and Adelaida will offer more details soon in her blog. I also may use the new account to “regram” those posts that we consider are worth sharing in more places. Please, let us know if you have other possible ideas.
Remember that there are many ways this can be used. Although not all of my students are actually doing the challenge, I start many days my classes by just going over some of the pictures and using them to review whatever we may be covering (the preterite, food, etc.) as there is always material in them and you can also switch to just native speakers’ post by clicking on the word hashtaged for the day.
How are you using #InstagramELE? And thanks so much for all the support, RTs and shares everywhere!
